Admission Numbers

The admission number for Denbigh School in September 2008 is 200. 

This is the number of children who will be admitted to the School in Year 7 in 2008.

This number reflects the amount of accommodation available at the School and also takes into consideration the available places at other local schools. 

In exceptional circumstances, it is possible, by agreement with the Governors and Milton Keynes Council, for a school to exceed its admission number. 

Timetable for Applications (September 2008 entry):

  • Autumn Half Term 2007 - Publication of school prospectus
  • November 13th 2007 - Prospective parents' evening for Year 7
  • November 23rd 2007 - Deadline for applications to be returned to the LEA
  • November 23rd 2007 - Deadline for supplementary application forms for places based on aptitude for Technology to be returned to Denbigh School.
  • December 2007 - Aptitude Testing
  • January 2007- Governors’ Admission Meeting
  • January 2008 - Governors Admission Meeting
  • March 3rd 2008 - Initial offer of places from the LEA on behalf of the Governors of Denbigh School

the Intake for 2007: an example

For the September 2007 admissions intake for Year 7, the Local Authority received 485 applications where parents had expressed a preference for the 200 places available at Denbigh. 

Under the admissions criteria for September 2007, the 200 places were allocated as follows:

ONE

a] Pupils who are ‘Looked after Children’ and have named Denbigh School as their preferred school. (2)

b] Pupils who have a statement of special educational needs and have named Denbigh as their preferred school. (4)

  1. pupils who live in the defined area and attend a partner school and have an older brother or sister currently in attendance at Denbigh School on the date of admission. (42)
  2. pupils who have a parent currently employed at the School. (0)
  3. pupils who live within the defined area and attend a partner school. (133)
  4. pupils living within the defined area of the School. (0)
  5. pupils who attend a partner School. (0)
  6. other pupils whose parents have made Denbigh their preferred choice of secondary school. (0)
