The Art & Design Technology
faculty is a combination of many disciplines ranging from traditional art topics
through to wood working, metal working, plastics, textiles, cooking & food
technology, and so on...
The Art & Design Faculty also contribute to the popular Green Power Car
Club, Sailing, Badminton, Girls Basketball as well as donating time after school
to help students develop their skills and complete projects.
11-16:
key stage 3 & gcse:
The aim of Design and Technology is to develop students’ skills for
designing a modern society.
This is achieved by identifying needs, problem
solving and designing to meet the needs of the end user.
A range of making
skills are employed, from modelling to creating 3D images on the computer using
Pro Desktop.
Students will learn about materials and new technologies. They
will also use CAD/ CAM facilities to develop their graphical skills and enhance
the presentation of their work.
The School also offers VCE Engineering
covering materials and manufacturing in Years 10 & 11.
Art offers a wide range of practical techniques including printmaking, textiles
and ceramics.
It also provides an opportunity to research, analyse and
evaluate relevant art history resources.
