The English & Media Studies
faculty teaches the traditional English disciplines of language and literature
but, also, the increasingly popular Media Studies course...
The English & Media Faculty organise the annual Poetry Week celebrations,
run a wide variety of trips to productions to help students better understand
the texts they are studying as well as donating time after school to help students
develop their skills and complete projects.
11-16:
key stage 3 & gcse
The course is designed to develop students’ skills in reading,
writing, speaking and listening.
Students are encouraged to read widely and to
improve those skills necessary for the communication of their ideas, both imaginatively
and forcefully.
The National Strategy for Key Stage 3 implemented in September
2002 aims to strengthen the transition from middle schools and enable pupils
to build more effectively on their previous achievements.
