[ 25/04/08 ] Show Racism the Red Card 2008
Denbigh is please to announce that Rebecca Price's poem, the "Red Card Rap" was awarded 2nd place in the national competition, with the judging taking place this year at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium.

- [ April 2008 ] Dannielle's Sri Lankan Adventure
Over 10 days, from the 14th to 24th February 2008 Dannielle, a member of Denbigh School’s Year 8 and the youngest of the group, along with her fellow gymnasts Kirsty, Sam & coaches Alan & Donna Armitage volunteered their time to visit Sri Lanka, to teach local children and to pass on much needed resources that had been collected, such as books and other stationery, etc.

Denbigh School & the Languages department would like to welcome the students from France who are here for the week on the first leg of the exchange programme this year.
On Friday they will be out to...
Please make them feel welcome & don't forget
that you can use the opportunity to improve your own language skills, especially GCSE students who's Language orals start next week.

- [ 11/03/08 ] Y13 French Work Experience
Mrs Heinemann & 13 of Denbigh’s AS and A2 language students are currently doing 1 week’s work experience in cinemas, a creperie and schools in Herouville Saint-Clair, in Caen, Normandy, France.
The partner school they are working with is, Le CLE.
The students will be writing an article when they return.
We wish them good luck and hope the experience is not only fun but will add to their language skills.

...all those students who attended the Bucks Schools Cross Country in High Wycombe on Saturday 2nd February.
Special congratulations &
well done to Ella Roache who finished 2nd in her event and qualifies for the All England Championships.
...Ian Goode, Adam Goode, Daniel Joyce and Graham Joyce who finished 15th overall in the Senior Boys Individual Medley Relay and 17th overall in the Senior Boys Freestyle Relay at the National Schools Swimming Championships, held in Sheffield on Saturday 2nd February. Denbigh’s first ever appearance.
January:
- [ 25/01/08 ] Congratulations to...
Mark Edwards, Ben Roche and Ryan Armstrong who have been selected for the Three Counties Golf Team.
Emily Jeffs who became the Year 9 MK Schools Badminton Champion and to Lauren Casling and Emily Jeffs who are the MK Schools Year 9 Badminton Doubles Champions 2008.
The U18 Football 5-a-side team who won the competition, beating Duston Football Academy in the Final.
The U16 Dodgeball team who finsihed 3d in the recent tournament.
- [ 18/01/08 ] EXCELLENT NEWS FOR DENBIGH SCHOOL
We are very pleased to have received a letter from Jim Knight, Minister of State for Schools and Learners at the Department for Children, Schools and Families, congratulating Denbigh School on its KS4 examination performance.
We are in the top 50 schools nationally as shown in the top performing schools table this year based on sustained improvement in 5+ A* - C for GCSEs including English and Mathematics.
This is based on sustained improvement over 4 years, and it is the second year in which we have received this recognition.
This also means that based on our figure of 61% of students achieving the 5+ A* - C grades at GCSE including English and Maths, Denbigh School is the top performing school in Milton Keynes.
We are delighted to be able to share this news with you and will be advising all those connected with Denbigh School of this achievement.

- [ 11/01/08 ] Denbigh Basketball stars of the Future
Congratulations to Robert Loftman and Iretemi Omoyeni who represented the South of England U16 Team in a Tournament in Sweden involving 15 countries. The South of England Basketball Team finished 1st.
Congratulations to Omari Miller who played for the U14 South of England Basketball team in Sweden. The South finished 4th.
Congratulations also to Luke Selvester who played for the U18 team who finished 3rd.
Well done to all these players.
December:
- [ 14/12/07 ] Staff -v- Students Basketball
On Wednesday 19th December the annual Staff -v- 6th Form basketball match took place.
Sadly, the teachers lost nut they did manage to unearth a new star in Mr Durose who scored the bulk of the teacher's points.
All money raised on the day went to the World Challenge group.

- [ 10/12/07 ] the Queen Visits MK
To celebrate the official opening of Stadium MK, home of the MK Dons, the Queen, Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II visited the stadium on Thursday 29th November 2007 and was entertained by students from all around the town.
Over a hundred Year 9 students from Denbigh went to the Stadium on Wednesday for rehearsals and to pick up the outfits they were to wear for the following day. Below are some pictures of the day and of our students who were all "wonderfully well-behaved" (Miss Barford).

- [ 10/12/07 ] Christmas Bazaar Thanks & Winners
I would like to say a very big thank you to all those staff and students who helped at the Bazaar. I feel that this was the most successful year ever!
I cannot give you any figures as yet as there is still some money coming in! If you are holding onto any then please let me know, and pass it to me ASAP.
The students who sold the most tickets were as follows:-

6pm to 8pm on Friday 7th December Denbigh will be hosting it's annual Christmas Bazaar.
There will be a wealth of stalls to test your wits and abilities all to help raise additional funds that we use to spend on our students.

There will be a limited number of Krespy Kreme donuts on sale on Friday to raise money for Children in Need.
Students will be limited to a maximim of 4 donuts each. Get them while you can and help support a very worthwhile charity.

On Friday 2nd November, fifty Denbigh students attended Music Live at the NEC, Birmingham where they were provided with all the information required to start a career in the music industry.

- [ 15/11/07 ] Immunisations Year 10 & 11
From the 4-14 December students in Years 10 & 11 will be undergoing a programme of immunisations.
The necessary information will be with the students and Form Tutors.
- [ 14/11/07 ] Denbigh Talent Contest: 22nd Nov
Come and see the amazing talent our the school has to offer and support your fellow students, between 4pm - 6pm in the school Meeting Hall.
Tickets cost £1.50 and are available from the Perfoming Arts Office & Drama Studio.
- [ 9/11/07 ] Year 11 Mock exams : 21st-29th Nov.
The title says it all.
Students should have started revising for these crucial mock exams that will help teachers decide what topics still need further coverage and what exam (Higher, Intermedaite or Foundation) to enter their students for.
It is also an opportunity for the students to gauge their own progress and for them to learn what they know, what they can do well and what more they still need to do.
TWO good online revision sources is SAM learning, which all students have access to (please see the link in the right-hand column) and BBC Bitesize.
- [ 9/11/07 ] Year 6 Open Evening: 13th Nov.
Denbigh School will be holding an Open Evening for Parents & Students who are considering joining Year 7 at Denbigh School in 2008.
There will be the chance for you to tour the school, visit classrooms and to see & find out about the type of work that we do at Denbigh.
The night starts at 6:30 and runs until 8:30.

116 students from our feeder schools have enrolled in this year's Children's University scheme, designed to complement & further the learning of Year 6 students.
Over the course of this year students will study 3 modules, from Languages, Food Technology, Design & Technology, Maths, Science & ICT.

This year's work experience has now started.
Year 10 students will be away from school, in a variety of locations to give them a flavour of what working life is like over the next two weeks.
Work experience ends Friday 16th November.

On Friday 19th October, 2007 Denbigh School was honoured to welcome 168 members of staff from 21 Primary & Middle Schools from the Milton Keynes area. This annual event is designed to promote collaboration between the schools & the focus is determined by what the Head teachers see as the being of greatest interest and need for their staff & students.
Head teachers, Teachers, Teaching Assistants & 1 Site Manager attended a series of workshops designed to develop their IT skills to further the use of ICT in the education of young children in the area.
The workshops included: Basic ICT Skills, Digital Photography, Digital Film Making, Animation, Podcasting & Multimodal Writing.
