The Humanities faculty encompasses the traditional subjects of History, Geography & R. e. as well as the newer disciplines of Health & Social Care, Sociology & Psychology.
Fulfilling the Citizenship programme is also an integral part of the Humanities Faculty remit...
Humanities is a core subject for all students in Years 7-11.
It is the study of people. It is an integration of History, Geography, Religious Education, Sociology and Citizenship.
Students develop their knowledge and understanding of these five areas and are given the opportunity to study contemporary issues.
We are committed to an integrated approach to the curriculum in the belief that a holistic approach is more coherent and valuable to students than the division of issues into separate subject areas.
We seek to employ a variety of teaching and learning styles with an emphasis on active, participatory work and group discussion.
Parents have the right to withdraw their children from Religious Education lessons
