Denbigh Ident: Creating a Culture for Success

the Pastoral System @ denbigh

IN 2007 there will be 4 x 20 minute tutorial sessions per week + 1 x 20 minute assembly.

These sessions are timetabled & attendance is compulsory, as it one of the main methods for distributing important documents & information

Tutorials are one of the main means of providing our Pastoral Care:

  • a regular Thought for the Week challenges the students to form & consider their own opinions on matters of relevance

  • Tutorial activities that support and supplement Personal, Social & Health Education [ P.S.H.E. ] throughout the School

  • Mentoring of students, to help guide them in their studies & lives.

  • Diary checking

Collective Worship:

A planned programme of contemplation, which takes the form of assemblies, provides students with the opportunity to consider spiritual and moral issues and to explore their own beliefs.

Parents have the right to withdraw their children from the programme of collective worship.

An alternative arrangement for the supervision of the children during this time will have to be agreed between the Head Teacher and the parents.
