Denbigh Brain Training

DBT Lead: Miss G Ali

Students in Year 7 and 8 study DBT. During these two years they learn key skills that they will need throughout their school life and beyond. Students are working towards to completing Pixl Edge over the two years by recording their individual achievements in five key areas: Leadership, Organisation, Resilience, Initiative and Communication. These will be known as LORIC to the students. There are two levels the students can work towards: Apprentice level and Pioneer level. For apprentice level students need to complete 10 tasks, two from each LORIC area. For Pioneer Level students need to complete 1 task from each LORIC area but the tasks are more challenging. After each level has been completed, each student alongside parents/guardians are invited to the Creative Arts celebration evening to receive a certificate and celebrate their achievements.

DBT is a great way for students to record and track their achievements as tasks are varied and can be completed inside and outside the lesson. You can look through the database with your son/daughter to see the activities and encourage your child to complete extra activities and have the edge.
