Our Post 16 Education

Denbigh has a successful, thriving Post 16 provision of approximately 450 students which combines the very highest academic standards with a wide range of enrichment and sporting activities.

Our Post 16 students consistently record examination results above the national average and approximately 80% of our students achieve university places each year, including Russell Group and Oxbridge.

Our added value performance for Post 16 is the highest in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas.

Students can choose a programme of study to suit their needs from our varied curriculum, containing around 30 Level 3 courses.

Students also benefit from a range of enrichment options including: Level 3 Extended Project, Young Enterprise, Community Sports Leaders Award and Russian, Turkish and Italian.

Our Post 16 facilities provide students with a specialised learning environment.

Year 12 and Year 13 students are encouraged to play a leadership role in the wider life of the School and to support the School’s younger students. We expect our students to be role models at all times.

Post 16 has a thriving Committee which organises charity and social events, leads on developing Post 16 policies and procedures and also contributes to the development of teaching and learning of students across the school.

Post 16: Structures and Mentoring

The leadership structure of Post 16 is as follows: Director of Post 16, Heads of Year 12 and 13 and Assistant Heads of Year 12 and 13.

All Year 12 and 13 students also have a Mentor who will work closely with them throughout the year. There are weekly mentoring sessions to ensure that all Post 16 students' needs are met. We also have a counsellor for students requiring additional support.

In addition to this we have a full-time careers officer on site to discuss Post 16 career options and to support/organise work experiences.
