Personal Development

Faculty Introduction

Students in Years 7 and 8 study Personal Development for one hour each week. During these two years, they learn some of the key skills that they will need throughout their school life and beyond. Linking to our PSHE programme, students are taught about the wider world (from Milton Keynes to Downing Street, and from local communities to global issues) so that they develop the knowledge, skills and values needed to thrive as responsible, active citizens.

Students will spend time exploring many of the core Denbigh and British values such as kindness, respect, the rule of law and individual liberty. Students will also spend time looking into what makes for a healthy lifestyle (including physical, emotional and mental health) and learn skills to implement in their daily lives.

Personal Development is a great way for students to develop key skills that they will use throughout their time at Denbigh and beyond.
