MK Youth Summit empowers Denbigh’s Student Leaders

Denbigh’s student leaders represented us at the recent 2025 MK Youth Summit which aims to empower young people to use their voice for the good of their communities.

Louis Clarke, Year 9, one of our student leaders shared his reflections of the Event with us.  Louis said that the Summit involved students from schools across MK and offered a wide range of activities.  There were stalls with information about the MK Dons Football Club, childminding services, Police and crime, LGBTQ+ awareness, menstrual awareness, and sanitary products were given out.   There were discussions about crime in Milton Keynes and sports and activities available for young people.  There were debates on school rules and rules in general and we were able to hear a lot of people’s views.  Emily Darlington, who is the MP for Milton Keynes Central gave a speech about young people being able to vote at the age of 16 and she told us how we could register ourselves to vote. There was also a Question Time event where we could ask questions to people with important roles in MK, including the Youth Member of Parliament for MK, a police officer and many more.

This was an inspirational event for our student leaders, and they have brought back what they learnt to share with our wider student body.  Thank you to Louis for sharing his reflections with us and to Mrs Brown who accompanied the students.

The student leaders who represented us were: Swaralee Batageri, Louis Clarke, Gurshaan Hayer, Hitarth Kapadia, Akarshana Senthil Ramesh & Kristy Yuen
