Winners of Year 7 Art Poster Competition Announced

The winners of our Year 7 Art Poster Competition, which celebrated the work of Austrian artist, Gustav Klimt have been announced and celebrated at our recent Art Exhibition.  Calum Chiu and Mak Cheung produced the winning designs.  Both winners and their families were invited to our recent Art Exhibition held on the night of the Creative Arts and Arts Celebration of Success Evening, to recognise their win. They also met Mr Steed to show him their winning designs.

The contest was launched as our Year 7 students have been studying the work of Gustav Klimt through their Patterns project. They looked at his use of line, shape, the colour gold, and the connection with Egypt.  They also looked at how Art Exhibitions are promoted through text, graphics and imagery.  We asked our Year 7 artists to create their own poster for a new Klimt Exhibition and the two winning designs were chosen.
