Year 10 soak up the culture in Toulouse & Barcelona

37 Year 10 students visited Toulouse and Barcelona in a wonderful trip taking in French and Spanish culture, visiting historic sites and practicing their language skills.

It was a very early start for the travellers, arriving at school at 2:30am for their flight to Toulouse, where they spent two days sightseeing in the ‘Pink City’.  The sights taken in included the medieval citadel of Carcassonne and an underground cave in Limousis.

The students then travelled to the Spanish border, stopping off in Figueres on the way to visit the Dali Theatre-Museum, where the heavens opened!  The thunderstorm made the rest of the journey to Barcelona tricky, but the rain had fortunately stopped by the time they arrived.

Whilst in Barcelona, students took advantage of the local culture and architecture with a guided visit of the Sagrada Familia, a tour through the Gothic Quarter and Montjuïc Park, visiting the famous Las Ramblas, trying local tapas and more!

It was a wonderful trip for the students with so much packed into the trip.  All the students represented the school really well and were commended on their exemplary behaviour throughout the trip by locals.

Our thanks go to Ms Jolley, Miss Tarazona, Mr Harrington and Mrs Milo who accompanied the students on the trip.
