Year 12 students attend Srebrenica Memorial Service

Year 12 students attended a Memorial Service at St Paul’s Cathedral to mark National Srebrenica Memorial Day.  The moving service brought together faith leaders, diplomats and survivors to remember and honour those killed in the 1995 Bosnian Genocide.  It was very impactful for our Sixth Formers to attend the Service and engage with the history of the Bosnian Genocide and to offer their services to continue to spread the message of what happened to the next generation.

As well as attending the memorial service, the students also visited the Guildhall Museum which offers a unique history of the City of London as well as an excavated Roman Amphitheatre.

Mr Steed, Headteacher said: ‘It was a privilege for our Sixth Formers to attend the Srebrenica Memorial Service to gain an understanding of how racism and intolerance can lead to the horrors of genocide.  Thank you to Mr Harrington and Mrs Rowe who accompanied the students.’

The students who attended the Service were:

Zineb Chadili, Albert Friday, Aisha Hansi-Nekatambe, Mansha Khan, Azraa Mandhu, Archie Muir, Shruti Ramkumar, Josef Skeens, Ryan White
