Year 7 show their talent for Theatrical Design
In the Summer Term, Year 7 students immersed themselves in the fascinating world of theatrical design. Through focused lessons on costume, sound, lighting, and set design, students developed a deeper understanding of how design choices shape the atmosphere and storytelling in live theatre.

Their hard work culminated in an exciting creative challenge: to design and build their own Shoebox Theatre, each representing a chosen scene from ‘Matilda the Musical’. The results were extraordinary—miniature stages bursting with imagination, detail, and flair. Three of the 55 incredible Shoebox Theatres created are shown here.

We are so proud of the creativity, energy, and commitment shown by every student throughout this Project. And finally, a HUGE thank you to all the parents and carers who donated shoeboxes—your support helped bring this magical project to life!
