Year 8 Visit Williams Formula 1 Racing  

Year 8 students enjoyed an exciting visit to the Williams Formula 1 Racing Team Headquarters in Oxfordshire.   The students raced each other in the simulators around Formula 1 tracks such as Silverstone and Monaco in the rain!  There was also a visit to the Williams Museum which houses all their championship winning cars, including those driven by Ayrton Senna and Nigel Mansell.

Our students were then set an engineering challenge to design a nose cone for a Formula 1 car that was flexible but safe.  All the nose cone designs were tested in a crash simulator to find the most successful design.
