Louis, Alex & Sanjay receive DoE Gold Awards at Buckingham Palace

Former Denbigh Sixth Form students Louis Peckham, Alex Shipley and Sanjay Soneji enjoyed a fantastic day at Buckingham Palace collecting their Gold Duke of Edinburgh certificates.  The boys showed outstanding commitment while at Denbigh to progress through the DoE Scheme and achieve the prestigious Gold Award.  As well as completing challenging outdoor expeditions the boys spent a huge amount of time volunteering in their local community.  Louis & Alex worked with the Scouts and Sanjay helped to run a Code Club at MK Library. 

Mr Steed, Headteacher said: ‘The Duke of Edinburgh Scheme sets young people challenges which help them to become confident and resilient individuals with excellent team working and leadership skills, attributes which are so helpful to their future.  Louis, Alex and Sanjay have demonstrated these attributes during their time on the DoE Programme but also in how they contributed to our school community during their time with us.  They fully deserved their day of celebration at Buckingham Palace.  I know that all the boys are grateful to the staff at Denbigh who commit to support every student who wishes to participate in the DoE Programme.’
