Every week I send out via parentmail a Headteacher’s Bulletin to all students, parents, staff and governors with the latest news, important notices, and exciting opportunities around the Milton Keynes area. The current bulletin is set out for you below along with previous bulletins from this term.
7 November Headteacher’s Bulletin
Dear Parent/Carer,
I hope this email finds you well and you have had a good week. It has been great to see students back after the half term break.
Jamaica appeal
On 28th October Hurricane Melissa hit Jamaica and has caused catastrophic impact to the lives of those who live there. A number of our staff have families living in Jamaica that have been directly impacted by the devastation caused. Please see the link here to donate to the Red Cross Appeal to help provide vital aid to those that have been affected, if you are able to.
Year 13 Class of 2025 Success
We are very proud of the A Level results achieved by the Year 13 Class of 2025 in the summer and we wish them every success in the next steps of their educational journey. Please see our latest ‘Think Denbigh’ Flyer which celebrates their success. We will be promoting our exceptional Sixth Form at our Sixth Form Open Evening for Year 12 starters in September 2026 on Wednesday 14th January 2026 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm and look forward to seeing all our Year 11s there along with students from across the city.

Odd Socks Day
Next week it is anti-bullying week which students will be covering in their PSHE lessons and tutorial. On Monday we encourage all students and staff to wear odd socks to celebrate what makes us all unique and special.
Toilet block refurbishment
Over the half-term break our site team and contractors have been working hard to refurbish the toilets in the Head of Year corridor. Like other secondary schools across the country, the wash basins for the toilets will be open to the corridor. These toilets will remain single sex toilets and the cubicles will be enclosed floor to ceiling. The refurbishment should be complete within a few weeks. Most toilet blocks in the school are due to be refurbished.
Year 8 Careers Trip to Newmarket Racecourse
Before the half term break 10 students from Year 8 visited Newmarket Racecourse. Students talked careers, had a tour of the Racecourse, including the track itself, the paddock and the weighing room, which no-one is usually allowed to see! They enjoyed the full racing experience from a box in the Grandstand, taking in two races and learnt about the names for different ages of racehorses. They spoke to media professionals who were setting up the coverage of the races and other workers at the Racecourse to find out more about careers available in the horse racing industry. Thank you to Ms Hamdan for arranging a fantastic trip.

Attend
As mentioned in Wednesday’s ParentMail, we will soon be using a new system called Attend to help us monitor attendance more efficiently. Please look out for an email from Attend Support on Monday, which will include your child’s attendance report for the previous half-term. You may also receive further emails and text messages from Attend. These messages will include a secure link — please click this link to view any updates or information from us regarding your child’s attendance and punctuality. Thank you for your continued support in ensuring your child’s regular attendance and punctuality.

Please see the attached newsletter produced by Mr Jackson displaying the fantastic work that took place last half term. I am extremely proud of the creativity and passion shown by our students. Keep up the good work!
