‘Snow, Skills & Smiles’ on Italian Ski Trip

During the Easter holidays, 37 Year 9 and 10 students headed off on an unforgettable adventure to the snowy slopes of Sestriere, Italy.   From the moment they arrived, students were immersed in a week of fun, fresh air and fantastic skiing.  Whether they were complete beginners or experienced skiers, everyone challenged themselves, improved their skills, and showed great perseverance on the slopes.

The students had five hours of skiing lessons each day under the guidance of expert instructors, and all progressed very quickly—some even tackling red runs by the end of the week!

Fun daily awards were given throughout the week for ‘Best Tumble’, ‘Wally’, ‘Best Mountain Selfie’, ‘Ski Lodge Legend’ and ‘Most Improved Skier’. Students participated in votes each evening for these awards which were presented at breakfast every morning.

The trip wasn’t just about the skiing though.  The evenings were filled with activities including the cinema, a quiz night, a visit to the local pizzeria and a historic town trail. This gave students time to relax and enjoy each other’s company after a full day on the mountain.  The trip was about building confidence and resilience, allowing independence, and creating new friendships and lifelong memories.  Throughout the trip, the students supported each other and represented the School impeccably, showing great kindness and maturity.

A huge thank you to Mrs South-Greaves, Mr Stewart, Miss Roche and Mr Hairsine for accompanying the students on the trip and for helping to make it such a positive and memorable experience for our students.
